So many People has been asking me this for security reasons, to avoid attacks and hack attempts. well, there are many cracks that actually crack ICQ 2000b and 2000a any builds to show everyone ip's and let everyone add you to their contact list. even me made a crack for all ICQ features(2000b v4.65 Build 3281), also to kill the ads, which i was very proud of myself,i had enought bullshit from ICQ's network with all those fucking distastefull ads.
Actually There are many lamers around with malicious intentions, and maybe you're one of their victims.. cot's when someone has your ip can do alot of things with it. which i won't explain here, cot's this tutorial is not about that.if you're protected with a firewall it don't matter,cot's there are many attacks and even a firewall can be hanged up with many attacks, so the better way to stay protected is by hidding your ip. i'm going to explain you how to do it, and there's no patch or files needed for that. is just a ICQ configuration need it that maybe you know about it but most people specially the newbies don't know about. :)
Make this Simple steps in order to make sure everything will work ok:
1.from your iCQ menu select the Option: Security & Privacy
2.once there select the menu option: Direct Connection
3. from Direct Connection select the last option that says : Allow Direct Connection with any user upon your authorization
4. then save and/or apply the new settings and reconnect to ICQ again for the changes to take effect. tell anyone or a friend to check for you if your ip address can be view it.... he will say Noup! and he will see your ip Always like this: 0.0.0.0 :) isn't that nice??? lollll
that's all by now and no proxy server is needed to do this. i'll hope it'll be usefull for you, to stay cool and protected having fun in ICQ with your friends. :-) enjoy!
this Method to hide your real ip address should work with all icq versions specially 2000a & 2000b any builds, and maybe ICQ 99. i've proved with version 2000b build 3281 and worked great!!!
